In 2005 Paul established Artisan Retail Display to offer a ‘one stop’ complete service – a specialist business which takes ownership of the whole journey taking the concept idea, developing the technical needs, engineering the costs, through to procurement, manufacturing, and final installation. This ownership has meant better control, reliable delivery, and greater quality standards.
In 2018 the business appointed two new Directors from within to take the business forward and a year later we relocated our works to larger premises on the outskirts of Leicester to prepare for expansion, investing in better plant and equipment.
Business owner, Paul Tirrell, a family business retailer by heritage, has held senior positions the display industry for over 30 years, predominantly in the joinery sector producing retail displays and interiors, exhibitions, product launches, and much more. For most of the early years manufacturing and installations were bought in culminating in 2005 when he established his Company, Artisan Retail Display to offer a ‘one stop’ complete service – a specialist business which takes ownership of the whole journey taking the concept idea, developing the technical needs, engineering the costs, through to procurement, manufacturing, and final installation. This ownership has meant better control, reliable delivery, and greater quality standards.
Adam joined Artisan in 2015 as a Project Manager and progressed to his current role of Director in 2019. He brings strong functional leadership to the development and management of the commercial aspects of the business – a wide ranging role which still involves project management and developing a close relationship with our clients.
With over 16 years in the joinery industry, from training on the bench, to working on the construction and installation of a large variety of display and commercial joinery projects. Adam embodies our company values and consistently maintains a professional and focused approach throughout ensuring we fulfil our obligations and deliver expectations.
Stephen joined Artisan in 2015 As a Project Manager and progressed to his current role of Director in 2019. With his can-do approach, he consistently meets the challenges set by our clients and the demands of a fast moving joinery manufacturing business. His primary role is to focus on the production requirements of the business which continues to involve project management, as well as forging close relationships with our clients.
He has over 28 years of joinery industry experience, from serving his apprenticeship through to producing a myriad of high quality retail, commercial joinery projects. He developed his pragmatic and leadership skills leading him to managing these projects. His provides both our business and clients alike with a safe pair of hands, leading our delivery team across the board.
Nikki joined Artisan in 2017 as our Project Coordinator. She quickly established herself as a talented organiser and an indispensable member of the management team. With 11 years in industry, Nikki’s range of experience covers all aspects of the display and fit-out market and her strong and analytical approach saw her take more control of the office, supporting the management team enabling a seamless delivery of all our projects in this demanding industry.
Mike joined Artisan in 2010 originally as a top class bench joiner with 30+ years of experience ‘on the bench’ he quickly developed into our CNC operator. His skill sets and problem solving talents are continually employed on the high class joinery projects we deliver. Having seen most the joinery industry can throw at one, he consistently meets the challenges set by a project to deliver above expectation. In 2017 he stepped into the role of Workshop Manager to further employ his many skills.
Adi joined Artisan in 2018 as a originator. From his ‘on the bench’ background of some 17 years, he progressed into the drawing office with an expert eye to deliver practical solutions to ‘originate’ in both 2D and 3D formats from client’s designs that meet the time, budget and quality expectations.
Andrew joined Artisan in 2015. Originally as a bench joiner he quickly developed into a top class tradesman proving himself capable in the delivery of high class and complex joinery. With his commitment and willingness he has proved himself a key member of the production team and now has been appointed as our second shop floor Team Leader.
Shane joined Artisan in 2016. Originally as a top class bench joiner with over 20 years experience of top quality joinery manufacture and site work. He has now developed into the role as a shop floor Team leader. He works closely with the management team to lead his workshop team to manufacture each project through to site handover giving the seamless reliable service Artisan offer all clients.
